WBG Meet with NC Legislators About HB 115 - NC Health Benefit Exchange Act.

Raleigh, NC - The Gutierrez' and other members of the North Carolina Association of Health Underwriters, met with North Carolina House and Senate leaders this week to recommend changes to House Bill 115 - The North Carolina Benefit Exchange Act.

This enabling legislation will serve as a framework on how North Carolina will implement the new NC Health Benefit Exchange which is required to be operational by January 1, 2014 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. Millions of federal dollars are at stake if the state fails to meet certain milestones as well as a potential federal take-over if it does nothing.

"We must continue working towards creating our own Health Benefit Exchange as if it will become a reality in 2014" said Antonio Gutierrez. "Right now we must assume that there will be no significant changes in the PPACA law or in enabling federal regulations or funding between now and 2014.
