WBG Attends 2011 Capitol Conference in Washington DC
(Raleigh, NC) - IBS/White Bear Group met with policymakers with more than 700 health insurance professionals at the National Association of Health Underwriters' (NAHU) 2011 Capitol Conference. The conference, which held at the Hyatt Regency Capitol Hill in Washington, DC, February 15-16, tackled many of the issues of the implementation of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (PPACA), including exchanges, medical loss ratio and the economic impact of the new law.
WBG represented the needs of thousands of health insurance agents and brokers from throughout the country concerning PPACA. The professional agent and brokers community anticipate playing a constructive role in a reformed health system. The PPACA explicitly includes provisions to give consumers access to independent and state licensed health insurance agents and brokers, both inside and outside health insurance exchanges. In the ongoing development of the new consumer web portal (www.healthcare.gov), we strongly believe consumers should have the ability and option to contact certified, state?licensed independent health insurance agents and brokers for assistance and trusted advice and services in choosing and making the most of coverage options.
