Teresa Gutierrez Appointed to NC Health Insurance Exchange Working Group.

Raleigh, NC - Teresa Gutierrez member of the North Carolina Association of Health Underwriters, was appointed to represent North Carolina health insurance agents and brokers on the new North Carolina Health Benefit Exchange and Insurance Oversight Workgroup.

Teresa Gutierrez will advise how to implement the new health insurance exchange in North Carolina beginning in January 2014 as part of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The working group is one of several health reform working groups formed by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the North Carolina Department of Insurance in collaboration with the North Carolina Institute of Medicine.

We want to insure that all citizens have access to affordable health care. We envision health insurance agents and brokers will be an integral part of the exchange helping to educate small business and individual consumers about their health insurance options" said Teri.
